Atlanta, GA -
BeReggae 2023 Last Day Postponed Until Further Notice.
The organizers for the annual BeReggae Music and Arts Festival took to Instagram early Sunday morning to announce that the final day of the festival would be postponed due to inclement weather. You can see the announcment below, taken directly from their official instagram page @atlreggaeinthepark
Following the announcement, many festival goers and vendors left comments expressing disbelief and concern. Many vendors expressed discontent with the fact that vendors would not be compensated for a lost in business, saying:
"Why are vip, tent packages, cabana holders & “boom bap ATL ticket holders receiving full refunds but you are refusing to even partially refund your vendors?? It’s one thing if the event was rain or shine and a vendor chose not to attend anymore due to the weather, but the event is being canceled a day short. A partial refund should be offered for vendors." - @ablivingessentials / instagram
"So you are issuing refunds but not to the vendors I am sure it was a rain or shine event but yet you say you are for the people, I take it the vendors are aliens. Rain or shine means the show goes on regardless, be fair right across the board we paid too!" - @jamaicanmagiccuisine / instagram
An instagram account even chimed in to suggest that it was far more nefarious. Alluding to the possibility that the event was cancelled because members of the security team had not been paid for their services, and implying that this oversight led up to the eventual announcement early Sunday. See the comment below:
"no type of promotion and no offer refund to vendors!! them vendors paying $2400 for a [expletive] event and didn’t even get the full 3 days? y’all better tell the truth as to why y’all canceled because it [sic] near perfect weather out!! maybe pay your security guards next time so u don’t have to cancel and leave all your vendors clueless" - myheyguy948226 / instagram
This is a developing story. Stay tuned.
